Roderick Nathaniel Pugh (born July 29th, 1981) known professionally as The Bama Mist, is an American army veteran, author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and recording artist. Pugh was born in Grove Hill Alabama and raised in Thomasville, Alabama. Pugh was the first African American sniper in the Iraq campaign in the history of the United States Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, he was one of the first one thousand soldiers to enter into Iraq as a part of 2-7 Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division. Pugh’s upcoming book entitled 2 Lives is slated for a fall of 2025 release. Pugh is currently a resident of Killeen, Texas.
